If you are looking to do a century, or heaven forbid, a double century to finish off the new year, you can join the Bikeaholics (http://www.bikeaholics.org/) for their annual Winter Solstace Century and Double Century. My friend Ken Holloway is organizing this.
Here are the details:
CD/2/111 WINTER SOLSTICE CENTURY If the Team Bikeaholics’ 11th annual double century (see D listing below) sounds too long, you can join us for the middle part of the ride. We start at 7:20 am at Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy and finish there. Limited support and no re-groups required. Absolutely must RSVP ahead of time; email to Paul Guttenberg at cycledad@juno.com. Also, volunteers are needed to support the ride and are invited to attend the party/potluck afterwards at Ken’s. For more complete information check the Team Bikeaholics web site. We leave from Ken Holloway’s house (Ken is the Western Wheelers’ ride leader) in San Jose at 5:00 am prompt. This route travels from Ken’s house through Gilroy, down to the Pinnacles and back. Limited support and no re-groups required. Only problem ... it is the same day as the BF Holiday dinner. Otherwise, I would have done the century.
