I love the looks of the aspide, but I have heard the flites are the most comfortable saddles... I have a coda right now...its fine, but I am looking to upgrade soon...
thanks so much all

I'm using the Aspide, along with two other guys at our shop. All positive reviews here. It took a couple rides to get used to it, but I like it quite a bit. It's nice and light yet still comfortable-the best thing I can say is that I never find myself thinking about it while on a ride.

I have the Aspide on 2 of my bikes, I like it alot. They have very minimal padding and are fairly narrow saddles. So are not for everyone.

I have the Flite Genuine Gel with Ti rails on both my MTB and RB and have been very happy with them. I've been using them for about 5 years now. I do agree that the Aspide looks pretty nice but in general, my butt doesn't agree with any of the split saddles I've tried yet.

I'm in the market for a new saddle myself. The one that came on my Trek 5200 sucks. I've read plenty of good things here about the Aspide but it just doesn't look that comfortable to me...Obviously it must be okay to get such praise here. Instead of that Selle Italia, you might also want to look at the Prolink Gel Flow Trans Am:

I've also read great reviews and comments both here and at roadbikereview.com about the Fizik Aliante saddle. It's pricey but supposed to be awesome!

Ive been riding on a Vetta Cosmos. It is what came on my Bianchi. This seat is incredibly comfortable. I was planning on having to upgrade it, but Im not going to waste the money now.

I like the standard Selle Italia flite, but it does scuff easily

I've been very happy with my Koobi AU Enduro on my roadie. It's a bit wider in the back, but I was looking specifically for that.

Fi:zi'k Aliante gets my vote.

As the owner of two Flite Ti Gels and one Aspide, I would say the Aspide gets my vote. I just got an aspide on my third rod bike after having two Flite Gels on my others and the Aspide is remarkably comfy even though the size and padding seems less than the Flite. One thing nobody has mentioned too is all the stitching on the Gel models will wear out your bike shorts faster. The Aliante wins this competition but the Aspide is very good and like others said, it is fairly narrow in overall width and the nose section.

At first I thought I'd never buy anything other than the Gels but I took a chance in the Aspide and I think I did good.

Didn't like the Flite Gel I had for a while. Got saddle sores from the seams on the saddle; maybe that's different with the new design. I like the Aliante a lot. It's great new, and breaks in really well. That said, saddle choice is about the most individual thing you can face. What fits my butt may not fit yours.

The older models of aspide had stitching along the top for the colors, but the current models it is not stitching anymore if that is a concern. I would love to get the San Marco Aspide Composite, is virtualy same thing but has hollow rails and a Carbon outer casing and only 114 grams, but the price tag keeps me away. Would look so good on my CF bike :)

I like mine, but agree with the roadbikereview comments about it being fragile. The leather cover is very thin, and subject to damage. Don't ask me how I know. :(

If you like saddles with a roundish profile (some do, some don't), it'll probably work for you.

You can knock the price down a little by going for the Ti rails. (The weight difference is pretty trivial, I think.) I got lucky and found one that had been returned (like new) at Performance. That took 30% off, then I had a 20% off coupon. Toss in a couple of $10 buyers club coupons and I got away okay.

I really enjoy my Aspide Arrowhead. A little bit heavier, but still comfortable on the long rides.

Selle Italia SLR-definitely not for everyone, has very little padding but is extremely light....use it on my Cross Bike and my Road bike...

I'm gonna stir the pot a bid by suggesting the specialized body geometry. Its a light, firm, but extremely comfortable saddle. it takes a few rides tog et used to, but it is a great saddle for big miles. BTW, I have NEVER had numbness on this saddle.

Phatman, I have the same seat and I'm very happy with it.

i tried the apside arrowhead that is doctor designed and it cause such pain down there, the factory selle royale that came with my cannondale was alright but too narrow, it was supposed to be a different seat but wasnt. I bought a selle italia prolink gel seat, it is so far pretty good. My butt needs to adjust.

Older model Flite gel on the tandem, but still had numbing. Bought Maxflite Gelflow in the spring, and solved all the numbness, although it took several long rides for my backside to 'learn' the slightly wider seat.

Moved the Flite gel over to a new road single, but no problems with numbing since I stand about twice as much on the single as the tandem.
