Mail Order Cycles www.mailordercycles.co.uk avoid this company like the plague.
This unreliable company cooperates with Amtrak delivery service ( www.amtrak.co.uk ) offering ‘free delivery’ with your bike on the arranged day.
Having waited all the day round I didn’t get my consignment, although on the tracking internet tool at the end of the day the status had changed from ‘with driver’ to ‘failed delivery attempt’. And then, calling the company to find what’s going on, I heard that I’d missed the parcel and would have to pay for another attempt! And if not, the bike would get back to Mail Order Cycles and I’d be charged for this shipping and also restocking fee (about £50 in toto). The manager of Mail Order Cycles when I asked her to solve the situation was rude and inconsiderate towards me: ‘There are many unfair things in live!’ – she said and ‘According to my records you missed the delivery’. So they value more they data-base records than customers? Still don’t have my bike although they have my money. Don’t risk, at least as long as they haven’t changed the middleman delivery company – Amtrak - and the manager of Mail Order Cycles is the same.

Well, it seems as though someone from Mailordercycles has discovered this thread. I will allow him an opportunity to respond to the OP's comments.

The 'missed delivery' thing is really really standard for many UK delivery services.

When I lived there, one at least two occassions I was in and waiting for a delivery when I got a card through the door saying I wasn't in. Chase the guy down the street "Hey! I'm here! Where's my parcel?" "Err, sorry mate. It's at the depot. You'll have to go pick it up."

Gah!

In Oz, "delivered" meant that they left it with a neighbor, or on a neighbor's doorstep. When we finally got a reliable courier (I imported a lot of bike gear) I made sure that my packages would be delivered by handing the courier a cold six pack one day.

It's all about showing appreciation for good service. ;)

Dropping off a package is considered good service? Geeze I wish a got a six pack of beer for every time I said "cleared for takeoff and cleared to land"(not at the same runway at the same time).:crash:

He was there two or three times a week for a while, and was always polite and friendly. Anyway that performs a service with such a positive attitude should be acknowledged.
