Hmm- I don't know these- I'll have to check 'em out! As to Jack- I thought it was a Bourbon, due to its corn content. But actually, I think it's not a Bourbon because of the filtering and barrelling process that's used there.

For 14.00 you get the 1/2 gallon plastic jug that doesnt break
when you drop or throw it. Pop out that E-Z pour thing to facilitate
larger gulps :)

+1 for Maker's Mark. When I was younger and didn't have money for MM, I would buy T.W. Samuels. It is very similar and, way back when, was a lot cheaper.

Darn it...why couldn't I read this thread last night? I have to drive this afternoon and now I'm thirsty.
Maker's Mark, for sure.
Wild Turkey is great too...more of a woody flavor, but not as smooth.
Haven't tried Woodford Reserve, but I toured the distillery back in high school. Pretty cool operation.

Having had them all, I must say it's woodford reserve. Not only have I drunk this nectar of the gods, but I have BIKED to their distillery and taken the full tour, complete with free tastings and free bourbon balls as well. e started from downtown frankfort and rode to versailles and back - approx a 40mile trip with some excellent scenery and a whole lot of cars going WTF?! :)
End this tour with a stop at Rick's White-light diner. They let us in AFTER closing and still fed us and talked to us. Amazing folks.

Hello old thread. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VL4HSCwk1fg)
My bro 'n law's 50th b'day is coming up. He likes Bulleit but I'll get one of these other fine suggestions. For me, bourbon is sort of like coffee...the smell is better than the flavor.

What do they drink? (I'm a beer/wine guy myself, so I have no opinion on "hard" alcohol)
Jim Beam, the white label.
Wild Turkey. The 101 only if I need to get hammered and am short on time.
