I was at my LBS today getting some work done to my bike when this guy came in. He makes his own bike lighting, and they are so interesting, I though I would share the photos I took. He says he goes to estate sales and the like to find the kitchen gadgetry the lights are made from. He's using some kind of rechargeable battery set up, but I'm afraid I tuned out all that technical stuff. :o I did have the presence of mind to take a picture of his brochure, so you could ask him about them if you wanted to. He showed us his setup outside in the dark. It certainly was bright enough.

That is cool...but doesn't the hot water or coffee run out if the spout is down?:D

Photos of something like that are better than the technical stuff anyway. I love the photos.

Just car headlight bulbs stuck into teapots. Interesting and funny idea. I wonder if this guy brews tea in the case of an old bicycle headlight using the bulb for the heat?

My homemade 50w mr 16 halogen bike light will boil water off it. Maybe it will make tea?

Very neat. That sort of thing is why I like to lurk at ratrodbikes.com.

Well, he was visiting a LBS full of Azor Oma/Opa bikes and Bakfietsen. I'm sure he figured no one would be worrying about weight - and he'd be right. ;)

I'm very happy with my lighting set-up, but I wouldn't mind one of those coffee pot lamps for my kitchen. :)

Azor Oma/Opa bikes and Bakfietsen.

What? I have no idea what any of that means.

I think you might know what they are. You just don't realize (http://clevercycles.com/store/?c=web2.67) that you do (http://clevercycles.com/store/?c=web2.68).

You're right !

Some day I may try one of the box forward bikes for Bailey.

Look at this load ! http://www.bakfiets.nl/fotos.php

Jean-Paul hosted me at the end of my TransAm tour--one of the most creative people I've met and a super host. My blog was full of tributes to Pepsi, so he figured out how to make Pepsi ice cream to welcome me!

I would love to see these on flickr. Do you have them posted somewhere? If not, may I have your permission to post them? (with proper photo credit to you of course.)

I'm a little tea pot, short and stout.
Here is my handle and here is my spout.
If you plug me in I'll let the photons out.
Put me on your handlebars and take me out.
to the LBS so Donna can check me out,
She can post my photo with her flickr account

I don't have any of those:rolleyes: unless you count me:D I love my old cookware and it doesn't get tossed or replaced until it is beyond usable.

Tell more about your 50w halogen light. If that's it in your photo, it looks a lot lighter, and almost as bright, as the car headlamp in a teapot (which gets an A+ for brilliance). (Get it, brilliance? Ha.)

Gosh! I've been looking for pipes that fit, but this gives me even more ideas.
