I was at my LBS today getting some work done to my bike when this guy came in. He makes his own bike lighting, and they are so interesting, I though I would share the photos I took. He says he goes to estate sales and the like to find the kitchen gadgetry the lights are made from. He's using some kind of rechargeable battery set up, but I'm afraid I tuned out all that technical stuff. :o I did have the presence of mind to take a picture of his brochure, so you could ask him about them if you wanted to. He showed us his setup outside in the dark. It certainly was bright enough.

I dread and anticipate what will happen when this guy finds the rare and antique stainless steel kitchen sink at an estate sale. He is probably shopping for the double sink model with accessory holes for the spray attachment! :)

A double sink would work great as a rear pannier set!:D Thanks for the idea, I'll be on the look out for a suitable sink for my touring bike.

Website on brochure does not work and a google search does not turn up anything other than a short comment on a website. ??????

And one of those old cast-iron claw-footed bath tubs for a trailer. Better, put four MTB wheels on it and use it for the frame of a recumbent. That tea pot headlight has style.

Looks like weight might be an issue.

Check out the top photo of the OP by DONNAMB*. I would guess that the owner of that bike likes to ride and ride a lot. Apparently weight and wind resistance isn't going to deter.
I'm a little teapot, short and stout. Here's me handle and here's me spout! When I get all steamed up, I let me lumens out! I'm a little teapot. ........................:D

Awesome!! Recyling at it's best, quirky and innovative to boot.

I'm thinking he's just at email level presently with website coming soon.
I'm content with my lighting setup, but I wouldn't mind one of those cute, coffee pot lamps for my kitchen.

Wouldn't that be a little on the heavy side???
Recycling = good
Teapot as a headlight = bad

A teapot would be bad if you didn't first clean it with Lime Away to remove those pesky taste killing calcium deposits.
