While we were at dinner last night, we were talking about how we looked in the past ... changing hair styles, geeky glasses, etc ... so l thought I'd post this thread. Post your old pics here, if you dare, so we all can have a laugh.

ah ha! all my old pictures are locked up in tin can and buried somewhere. You'll never find it. HAHAAHA. I'm almost glad I didn't grow up in the digital age, much harder to hide pictures.

Arrgh! That shirt! My Mom made them for the whole family. They look like the curtain material at a waffle house. And that signature crooked haircut by Dad. Woo! Good times! Good times indeed. I was riding my Royce Union with a banana seat during this era (about 1978).

Guilty as well... My mom dressed us kids in the 70's Brady Bunch clothes too! But being that it was the 70's everyone else did too! haha!

I don't have access to older photos as my sister has them up in Reno. However it was typical 70's stuff. Horrible multi colored t-shirts, tough skins pants, etc.

This is from 1990. A hard rock 'hair metal' style band that used to rehearse in Belmont. I was 19.

This is 1992 I think. A thrash metal band that used to rehearse up in Cotati Rohnert Park area. If bangs were good enough for Slayer, Anthrax and Metallica, the style was good enough for me. Or so I thought.

All these baby pics are sooooo cute!!! :D

Unfortunately, mine were lost during a move. A lot of our papers and such were in a large box (wasn't done packing it) and the movers thought it was garbage and got rid of it.

Didn't find this out till a couple of days later when the family was looking for it. :(

B.R. She was a beauty for sure. I was in the same situation. My sisters best friend was only a year older than me and man she was a peach I don't think I got over her for at least 10 years and even now I think AARRRRGGGGHH

Henry, if I may ask, where'd you go to school (or where did you grow up)? I ask because I have pics that have sort of the same look and feel about them, and I'm wondering if it's a regional thing?

*Edit: nevermind, BR, I found an ancient thread about where we all grew up. :)

Yeah! I can relate. My sister's friend was a little less than 2 years older. I remember the weekend of my sister's wedding (she was a bridesmaid). I slow danced with her and that's the last time I ever saw her. I played the 12" single of the Smiths "How Soon is Now" at least 100x that weekend. It took me YEARS to get over her. To this day, I think of Cheryl every time I hear that song. Funny. Happily married now thank goodness.

Those painful high school daze make us who we are. We wouldn't be the same without them. I ended up with a great wife and wonderful children; maybe we all need that to appreciate what we eventually get. Funny I just got an invite to the 20 year reunion recently... anyone go to theirs?

Anyway while I had the scanner out, I scanned some old photos I told my parents I'd do for them.

Here's my parents, my older sister, and me in Hong Kong prior to July 1970 (when they immigrated to the US).

I finally got a break from end-of-the-year frantic work and dug out a couple of pics from me past. The one above is of me in the driver's seat of my first cycle, in the Iowa yard of my grandparents around 1959. My brother John's along for the ride, obviously having a better time! My Dad has another with me in the stoker position.

The one below is from July 1996, taken around June of '76. The incident leading to the publisher taking the shot is one of my all time best from my touring days, but I'll save it for later. They told me they had long ago used up all the "good" pics from the inaugural Bikecentennial summer, and used this one because of my stereotypical '70s look.

Blast, you came to the U.S. a month before I did.

I also been meaning to scan all my parents old photos but too lazy to do so. Maybe this is an incentive.

Henry,

I went to my 20 year grade school reunion in 2005! Does that count? For those of you that are from the City I went to St. Gabriel's in the Sunset Dist. (I started at NDV but went to SG since it was closer to home.)

My high school, Sacred Heart Cathedral, had a 10 yr reunion but they cancelled it due to lack of interest. Doh! I was one of the many that wasn't going to go. I wonder if the 20 yr will generate more interest?
