I just heard this on local AM radio 760. 10 AM this morning, South Grade Rd. Details when I hear them.

Authorities were called at 10:30 a.m., after the bicyclist was found lying in the roadway near Canfield Road, the California Highway Patrol reported. Medics attempted CPR on the bicyclist, who was unresponsive, but the victim was pronounced dead, the highway patrol said. "Medical reasons" may have contributed to the bicyclist's death, no further details were immediately available, authorities said.

The bicyclist ---- identified as Jeff Deardoff, of Chula Vista ---- apparently collapsed while riding, an investigator for the county medical examiner's office said. Authorities were called at 10:30 a.m., after Deardoff was found lying on East Grade Road, near Canfield Road, the California Highway Patrol reported. Medics attempted to resuscitate Deardoff, who was unresponsive, authorities said. He was pronounced dead, the Highway Patrol said. Deardoff is survived by his sister, the medical examiner's investigator said.
