Tonight I watched the new Pixies rockumentary DVD "loudQuietloud: A film About the Pixies". I highly recommend it to any Pixies fans.

lol, there's a coachella (sp?) DVD out now. I think it's safe to say Mr. Black and Kim Deal are STILL not getting along--it looked painful for them to be on the same stage.

Have you seen the loudQUIETloud film? They don't look happy, but they don't have a choice since they all went broke after the Pixies disbanded. The music is still fantastic.

BTW, I agree, Charles and Kim can't get along. During their first go around, Kim started getting a lot of attention, and Charles couldn't handle it. It's also sad to see how badly Charles and Kim have aged -- especially sad on the part of Kim since I thought she was hot back in the day.

Thanks for the tip. I love Frank Black, but he's always seemed like the Prince/Billy Corgan type-Not much willing to compromise for other musicians at all. Kim Deal had some problems back then too, though.

I'll definitely be picking this up after Christmas.

Kim and her identical twin sister, Kelley, both had substance abuse problems -- both of them have been through detox also. It's sad to see the toll that dope and alcohol have taken on Kim, she was fine when she was young.

Have a look at this vid of Gigantic from the late 80's. Kim's hair is a mess, she's not wearing make-up, and she's dressed like a bag lady, but it's one of the sexiest performances I've ever seen from a rock chick.

The story was that Charles(aka Black) couldn't cope with her drug abuse. I think Charles couldn't cope with the fact that a lot of horny dudes were showing up to see Kim.
