Foo - When the day starts off as crap and get's crappier

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Monday has just sucked from the opening of my eyes. I'm still fighting this stupid cold, I'm all pissed off for some unknown reason, and I got some real crappy news early on.
I had done some work for someone. A lot of work. And have been expecting compensation for a while. Nada. Not yet at least. (*&$@!)
I am also expecting a large item that I paid for but will not get it until later than expected. Maybe after Christmas (*&$@!)
My wife's Christmas present is 1000 dollars more than I expected and I have got to figure out how to come up with the money or scale it back. (*&$@!)
Ok, my bellyaching is over. I'm done. I just need to thank God for what I have and move on. But, it's going to be a tough one. Thanks for your time. You can now return to your regularly scheduled cooler Foo stuff.
Sometimes you eat the bar. Sometimes, well, the bar eats you!
Good luck - week and a half more of madness :)

What's worse is that get got possesive in your thread title. That's never good :p
As for the person you did work for... you need to ask "Hey, are you going to pay me? That was a lot of work!" And if they say no, walk out and forget about them. If they say yes and it's awkward, remember that it's better than holding a grudge.

I have asked. I was told that I will get compensated. Unfortunately it will not be when I need it. And I really don't know when I'm getting it at all.
As for the other thing I bought, well, it's just not good. But nothing I can do to change it.
And my wife's gift, I will have to go into the hole to get it for her. She is worth it and deserves it, but I hate being in debt longer than expected.

this work you did, didn't you spell out compensation prior to beginning the project? i dunno i know i wouldn't start anything unless it agreed upfront when i was getting paid, especially if it was lots of work involved.
is there a way to undo what you've done?
i'm battling a cold too, it sucks

Well, I laid it out and was told several times what I was getting.
It's nothing I can undo - nor do I want to. The guy I'm working with is a good friend and I think that's the problem. People I don't know are easier to deal with.
