Last Wednesday I had a physical. The tests showed a slightly high level of blood in the urine test so the Dr. wanted kidney x-rays done. The nurse called with instructions to "clean out" my system last night. Anyone who's had a colonoscopy knows what I mean. Not really fun. Went in this morning for what I thought were a couple of pictures. Wrong. I knew there was more to it when I was told that the nurse would be in to start an I.V.. After the I.V. the tech came in with two LARGE size syringes full of "contrasting agent" and yes both were going into me. Then I got to spend an hour getting into different positions every 5 to 10 minutes for a set of pictures. Finally I got to relieve myself of all that fluid and go home. BTW, any thoughts and prayers that everything is OK will be appreciated.
Then I picked up my brother-in-law and cut up trees in his and my parents yards from the ice storm. I can't wait to go back to work tomorrow and rest.
Hope everything's OK - sending good thoughts.

that SUCKS. I hope everything comes out okay. I can't wait until Star Trek becomes real-life and all diagnostics can be done with a tricorder. *sigh*
edit: I did not mean "I hope everything come out okay" as in, well, you know. I hope all the TESTS prove that everything is okay.
Sooner,
you got my thoughts and prayers . .
You survive the ice storms Ok? I've got relatives in Ada who are alright and
a niece in Wewoka (sic?) who is without power/heat etc.

MartyThanks everyone!
Our area was OK. We don't have many big trees nearby and our utilities are underground. My parents live in an older area and were without power from Sunday to Wednesday. The lady that did my registration this morning said she is still without power. The estimates are down to about 15,000 in the OKC area without power, down from 180,000. Supposedly they are down to the areas now where it's single houses or just a couple houses together without power which is more time consuming to repair than whole circuits. They have my thoughts and prayers.

Frustrating. Fairly recently I had a call from a doctor about some tests I had done:
Doctor: Well, the results are negative (=good) on most of your tests, BUT....
[B]Me: What? What?
Doctor: We haven't gotten the last test back yet.
Way to freak me out!
(The last one eventually came back negative/good too, BTW.)

Of course, you know he's so used to saying "but..." in that dreary, serious monotone that it just accidentally comes out that way all the time.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!Everything looked completely normal. Going to do another urine test in a month. If there's still a high level of blood I'll be referred to a urologist to figure out what's going on. But it doesn't look like it's a major thing. :):):):):):):):):)
Thanks everyone!

The only reason i'm familiar with the details of the OP's procedure is because my sister is a radiographic imaging tech and shares stories about her work over dinner much to the disgust of my mom. :roflmao:

Excellent!
Went through a bit of that "waiting" for Dr's results earlier in the year myself. Glad to hear that things have worked out well
:D
