Hi all,

I ordered some submersible flood lights from harbor freight and am now looking to get the bulbs for my project. Are all MR16 bulbs basically the same? Batteryspace is out of stock so I am looking else where. Are there any other sites with cheap bulbs? If you pay more for a bulb is it better or are they all essentially the same?

These be ok? http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-10-x-Clear-Halogen-MR16-12v-20w-24D-BBF-bulbs-lamp_W0QQitemZ290190266346QQihZ019QQcategoryZ20706QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks a lot,

-Mike

I just get mine at Home Depot or Lowe's.

Mike, there are differences in bulbs but beam angle makes a much bigger difference.
The 24 degree you linked is pretty wide, I'd start with a 12 and go up or down (I like a 7 for the road). A 12 will be roughly 4x as bright as a 24.
I got mine from a local lighting store.

Thank you both for the replies. How much are they at homedepot or a lighting store? More than ~$2.00-$3.00 a bulb?

Thank you,

I bet that 24 degree flood is sweet...

I'm using a 35 degree flood and a 10 degree spot and I like the 35 degree much better than the spot. I bet that 24 degree would be a nice compromise. And at $1 a bulb the price is right too.

I've bought all of mine at HD or Lowe's.
