I had one that went on my sunglasses, but it broke. It was also hard to get adjusted. Are the helmet-mounted ones any better?

Thanks.

- my helmet/glasses mirrors cost US$0.10 each:

1. go to Jo-Ann Fabrics or Micheal's craft store
2. purchase a 10-pack of 1" circular craft mirrors (US$0.99)
3. cut a 4-6" length of 10-12ga sturdy single-strand electrical wire
4. use a pair of needlenose pliers to wrap a 1/2" diameter flat spiral of wire
5. use a 1" circle of double-sided tape to stick on the mirror
6. press fit the spiral onto the mirror, cover w/a piece of electrical tape
7. wrap around eyeglass frame or tape to helmet/helmet lid...

I like my ThirdEye glasses mount mirror. Good view and easy to adjust, but that may be the one you had as several of mine have broken.

I use a helmet mirror, tried glasses mirror but they break easily and dont mount to some glasses. They take a little getting used to, but I am at the point where I just flip it down and off I go.

I use the 'Take-A-Look' mirror. You can mount em to your glasses or helmet and they are very easily adjusted. I haven't broken it after 4 months of normal use and a little abuse. Any helmet/glasses mounted mirror will take some getting used to, but after you do you will probably wonder how you got along without one.

My Third Eye has been through 5 months of daily commuting and one wreck, none the worse for wear. Only maintenance it's needed was cleaning off the blood after the wreck. ;)

I've used Third Eye glasses mount for years. The clip is plastic and has broken a few times after years of use. Take-a-look looks like a spring metal clip and might last longer?

I like my third eye, the one in the back of my head!

Seriously, I ordered a Take a Look so I'd have a mirror for my second helmet and sent it back. The Third Eye is slightly larger in diameter and I like that. I use the helmet mount unit and am very comfortable with it. I always place my helmet down carefully so I don't bump the mirror, as I hate having to reset it to its sweet spot.

I am a recent convert to mirrors, following unsatisfactory experiences years ago with eyeglass-mounted mirrors. I now have a CycleAware mirror on my Giro Xen helmet, and I am quite pleased with it.

I have 2 take-a-looks, one for my sunglasses and one for clear glasses for riding in low light conditions. They have worked great, easy to put on, stay in place, and haven't scratched. Now after about 5 years of use I really could never go back to not using a mirror.

Take-a-Look! Most solid mirror of any type I've tried.

+1

I had one and loved it. Then one day I lost it. Bought another one. A month later my son found it out in the yard, a little dirty but none the worse for wear. Now I have two!

I have a mirror that mounts on my helmet. I think it is the best thing as far a safety besides the helmet that I have bought. I wouldn't ride without a helmet and mirror

I second the CycleAware (http://www.cycleaware.com/) mirrors. I have the Reflex on my Giro Xen as well and also my full face helmet. I like them because you can pop them off, rotate and bend the arm. I ride the streets to the trails, take the mirror off before getting too rambunctious. I've lost a couple after crashing, they can be hard to find again.
