Okay so I just ordered some wheels with 120mm fixed gear hubs, assuming that my Univega Supra Sport frame (which I'm converting to a fixed gear if that wasn't apparent) had 120mm spacing for the dropouts. Stupid, right? Well I measured the spacing today and it turns out it's 124mm. The wheels haven't come yet so I haven't tried to install them, but do you think the 124mm spacing will cause a problem? If it does would I be able to add washers or something to fill the space?

if it's any consolation for you..keirin frames are spaced 123mm for 120 + 1.5 (tensioners on each side)

Sorry but I have to be a n00b and ask what tensioners are exactly. And could I get tensioners that are 2mm?

Yes, appropriately sized washers on both sides (so you won't have to redish).

You can just install the wheel as-is. 4mm is not too much for a steel frame to handle. If you do decide to respace, be sure to put the washers between the bearing cones and the locknuts...(LBS).

most of the conversions you're gonna see on this site or other places aren't gonna be using spacers
and the majority of those old road frames have spacings of 126mm.
so dont even worry about it, your wheels will be fine as is.
