Hi all,

After some chat with some british bike shops and distributors i came up with this. If you buy an X brand product, you cannot return it for warranty inspection etc etc in any other shop/dealer different than the one you originaly bought the product from. If that is the case then it SUCKS big time. As far as i am concerned, i thought that if you buy a legitimately imported (by the official distributor) product from an authorised dealer, then you can get help with warranty repairs or exchanges in any other authorised dealer in a national level. Lets say you live in Glasgow and you buy something from London, do you have to travel back to London to the specific shop to get it sorted??????

You can here. If you buy Kona in Vancouver the shop here will deal with it. The only difference is labour. If there is labour incured the shop I bought it from may not charge for it where the other kona shop here will.

You should never get charged for labor.... when there is a warranty the company comps the shop for labor. So in no way should a customer get charged for a companies mess-up. No matter if it's the shop you bought it from or not. :beer:

UK Law is different so warranty is different.
In UK teh warranty is with the shop you purchased the goods from.

If you talk nicely and find a good shop it won't be a problem.
How does the destributer/manufacturer know which shop you originally bought it from.

Hmmm i guess the laws in UK are even worse than the USA. I must pay my respect to the customer service framework that exists in USA and Germany. I bow to you. ..... on the other hand another ****ty british law...
