I told my boys (ages 7 and 9) that they could each pick out a new ornament for the tree. Now I've got a big Darth Vader hanging on the tree. Somehow, that just makes the holiday complete.

Its not Christmas without the Dark Lord of the Sith looking over you. ;)

We have teddy bears and a barbie doll on ours. Courtesy of my daughters.

One year I got all crazy and hung hot wheels all over. Some were still in the blister packs and some were just tied on with ribbon.

Poor tree was saggin' lower than a punk kid in the bad streets of thugville. :(

Years ago when I supervised locked psych I made a Jack Skellington out of foam and felt. My wife and have used it as a tree topper each of the 10 years we've been together. This year my 5 y.o. thinks it's "too scary" so he's been retired to the windowsill. Now my wife can't find a star tree topper anywhere. Kinda sad. We also have a darth vader and my ornament this year is Randy from "A Christmas Story" with the snowsuit on... "I can't put my arms down!"
My ornament last year was an "ipod" that plays 3 songs, one of them being a REALLY annoying version of Jingle Bells that my kids play 10x daily. That ornament may be "missing" next year.

We just added a "backhoe loader" ornament to our tree.
