The sister of a friend of mine was killed on her bicycle after being struck behind by a car. She was struck on Wednesday of last week and died this past Sunday. As of yesterday afternoon the person that hit her had not been located. I've known this family since 1973, and while I've heard of this type of thing happening all too often, this is the first time it has happened to someone I know. It is pretty sobering.
Any Kingman riders please keep your ears open for anything that would help locate the individual who did this. It is scary that this lunatic is still out there.

I'm sorry to hear this. It's always saddening when a cyclist is killed on the road by a lunatic or under any circumstance. I send my best thoughts to your friend and to you too. I sincerely hope that the killer gets caught soon.
Having been an avid cyclist for 35+ years, it seems that striking a bicyclist is becoming easier to get away with.
Had one in the Tucson area where by cyclist was hit by pickup truck, ended up dead in bed of the pickup . . . driver's statement: 'Thought I'd hit an animal.'
A good, and expen$ive attorney, that pleaded her case stated 'oh, she had a newprescription; oh, she was changing her CDs; oh, she only had one drink' . . . in reality, she got away with murder.
Had 3 major hits so far by motorists. Two on our tandem and one on single bike. In each case, driver said 'did not see you' . . . but they got the ticket.
We are still alive to tell about it . . . be careful out there!
Our condolences on the death of your friend's sister.
