Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - pugsley emotions

I have to confess here, that I keep lusting after a pugsley. Or, possibly even more alluring is the Big Dummy.

There's one on Craig's List right now for a very good price (a pugsley). I keep looking at it. I think about snow riding. I think about bikes in general, and how much I miss riding. I start to think of reasons why a pugsley would make sense: the gravel roads in KS, off roading in the north woods.

But the truth is, I don't like heavy slow bikes. Major weight is my only beef against my Atlantis. I like skinny tires and quick turns. So I won't be getting a pugsley or a Big Dummy.

But I still keep looking, almost obsessively.

I have a couple of those!

It's winter, and all my bikes but the the Atlantis have 27" skinny tires. I don't want to invest in a winter set up because I normally I'll only be bikeless for a couple months, and there's other stuff that should keep entertained in the snow.

I planned on going back to KS in mid February, but I have grandma-duty until the middle of March this year so it's been postponed.

I've got a 1x1 outfitted with 2.5" tires, it reminds me of a clown bike. And it's a blast to ride.

Although today I'm in a pink mixte mood, after seeing one in the C&V forum.

I was coming home last night, and the roads were clear and the temp was warm, and I thought, "Hey! I could ride in this! I'll do so as soon as I wake up tomorrow!"

I woke up to the wettest couple of inches of snow I've seen in a long time. The type of snow you can't ski or snowshoe in, either.

Get the Pugsley. It looks like a blast, and you can ride it over anything.

If you want to go somewhere fast, the best option is a car.
If you want the maximum amount of exercise, the best option would be snowshoes or maybe a pogo stick.
If you want to have fun and enjoy a ride, then you go with a bike. And once you do that, there's no reason not to get whatever bike looks like fun to you. So get a Pugsley. Have fun.

I have to admit I'm surprised that I miss cycling so much. I've spent the whole day today surfing BF.

I really thought it would be nothing to put the bikes away from Nov to March and do one of a zillion other things I find pleasurable. But all I want to do is get on a bike.

My Atlantis and all* my bike clothes are in KS, waiting for me to get there in March.

Dang! I finally realized I could hook up all my dogsled gear to the pugsley and really have fun, and someone had already snapped it up. It was a very* good price on it.

Does anyone know anyone who does this? I know people train dogs pulling bikes off-season, but I don't know of anyone who does it in the snow. But with a pugsley, I think you could...
