I bought this bike not expecting a whole lot but I've been very pleased with it. It is a very smooth ride with the suspension. I've had it a few months now and haven't had any problems with it. It has 8 gears and shifts fine. I bought a back rack to hold another battery for long rides. So far I can expect to get at least 11 miles on a charge. That's with pedaling. I'm 200lbs. The things I bought for it were comfort grips and a narrower saddle. It's really fun to ride. Now as you can probably guess it is fairly heavy with the battery. I haven't had to pedal it without the aid of the battery yet but I'm guessing a steep hill would be a challenge with the weight. But I think I figured how far I can go so I don't have to worry about that. 15-16 mph is about the top speed I got with the throttle on flat ground.

Bet you could get that thing up to 20mph by changing gear ratios if you don't mind reduced hill climbing torque.
You can get this up to 20mph with the throttle and pedaling. Throttle alone pretty much in the 15-16 range. (Comparing this to the Wilderness BL-36, that would take you up to 20 mph with throttle alone.) If you use throttle alone up a hill it won't take you up fast. It's more like a slow steady pull. I use the throttle with pedaling most of the time. Powerpack sells a motor and controller for this bike that will accept a 36 or 48 volt battery if you decide you want to go that way. The controller and motor are around $320.00. I haven't fooled with that. Using that also voids whatever warranty you have on the bike.
