I was wondering if a campy crankset could fit with shimano der, or do these two brands not mix together?

Derailleur should work fine with Campy (assuming 8-9spd, not 10spd for the front der). Shifters for rear mildly problematic, but this is covered on Sheldon Brown's site. Steve

When installing a Campy crankset it's best to also use their B/B, otherwise you may encounter chainline issues. Campy cranksets will seat on Shimano spindles, but a bit further out than Shimano cranks.
