Hi All,
This former hander queen was being used for spare parts:http://www.jim.bike123.com/Aug06.jpg
I rescued it on August 15, 2006, with no front wheel, seat, cassette, bottom bracket, crankset, chain, carrier or idler pulley. The decals were almost unrecognizable. The previous owner wanted to keep the steering mast.
After some gifts, courtesy of the original owner:http://www.jim.bike123.com/current.JPG
The key part was marrying the long quill stem, OD 1.0 inches, with a 1.125 threadless steer tube.
It works fine. Took my Burley out for its first serious ride, a C & O Canal weedend, May 18-20, 2007. On Saturday, scouts and scouters pedaled from Cumberland, MM 184.5, to Little Orleans, MM 141, a distance of 44 miles. The weather was perfect - 75 degrees, cloudless sky and a very light breeze. The Burley performed flawlessly.
