I'm playing a bit with a route from my home that goes down to SUnland and up Big T. According to Google and bikely, there's a road that turns left off Big T called Gold Canyon Truck Trail. It goes back down to Little T, and back to Santa Clarita (home). Bikely doesn't seem to have altitude data for it, but there's close to 5,000 feet over 40 miles.

I was wondering if 1) anyone had ever ridden this? 2) what's the topography like, and 3) what the condition of the road was--rideable on road bikes?

I've ridden it on the mtb, wouldn't try it with a road bike, if it's the same one I'm thinking of. It is loose and rocky on the roads up there.

Thanks...already thought of that, but it's too far. Looking to keep it about 60-ish miles.
