Hi,

I recently picked up an earlier (2005 or 2006) Van Dessel Country Road Bob frame, 50cm. I'm not going to use it for hardcore cyclocross, but I'd like to be able to fit it with a wider tire and cantilevers up front (which it'll have in back).

I got it sans fork, so I need a fork -- not a superlight and expensive one; just something reasonable. Looking for recommendations, with this in mind: the frame has a very short wheelbase which can cause some toe-to-front-tire overlap.

So, what about fork rake? Would kicking it out help some here? How much rake is available, and what's a reasonable amount? (I don't want Easy Rider here.)

TIA, Paul

I'd go to the van dessel site (www.vandesselsports.com) , check what fork the frame was designed for, and try and mimic that as closely as possible.

EDIT: I see that info's not readily available on the site. Go ahead and contact Edwin, who runs VD. He's a real nice guy, and will be happy to help you.

Thanks for the tip -- I'll do that.
