Triathlon - really old roadie v. not as old roadi for first triathlon

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
here's the dilema. I have been training for my first tri, and was planning on doing it on my 1999 Cdale Cad 3 roadie. But I was in an accident last week, hit and run by a cab, and both rims are bent beyond repair and needing replacement. I also have my dad's old Fuji road bike (not sure of model), but I think it's from 1975 or something like that, no idea what components are on it but it all still works well. The dilema is thought I am super tight on cash. So where is the money better spent:
-buy two new wheels for Cdale
-get a full tune up on the old Fuji
Clearly the new wheels would be more expensive than a tune up, but I also prefer the all ultegra Cdale.
thoughts on a decent, yet cheap, wheel set for the Cdale?
What's cheap? You can get some Neuvations, Open Pros or Xero XR1's for ~$250
Look at chucksbikes.com He has some wheels that may get you out of a bind. Riding your dad's bike wouldn't be that bad, but I'd like to ride the bike that I've been training on. It just depends on what kind of money you're looking to spend. If $100 is tight, just ride dads bike and worry about fixing yours later. It's your first tri, enjoy it.

One thing you might want to consider is other damage to the frame of the CDale. If you were hit by a car, and the rims were that messed up, there's a good chance that the frame is damaged (maybe damage you can't see), and it might be hazardous to ride. Just a thought.
I would recommend getting new wheels, all the way, but only if you can confirm (somehow) that there's no detrimental damage to the frame. Maybe take it to your Cannondale-dealing LBS and see what they can do. Good luck.
