Today I drove by the UPS store to ship out my third returned Garmin 305. The first one would lose connection due to anything, such as trees, bridge, wires or just because it wanted to quit. They took it back and sent me another one. The second one read perfect and never lost connection. However, it was stuck on 65,616 feet elevation. It went back. The third one was just like the first one.
After a lot of converstion I found that when you return one of these gadgets you get a "refurbished" unit, which reads "returned from someone else and shipped off to you." Once you get a defective Garmin you are caught in their system and it seems cannot get out. I was promised a "new unit" today. Wonder what that means?
