Which helmets fit best over those winter caps?

I'm up to two caps now for the rest of the winter but the helmet is rid'n high and tends to wander. It's a size large...what to do? So which helmets manage caps the best? Santa wants to know!

Caps? Why not use a balaclava or something else that is form fitting?

Heh heh heh...For quick office escapes...The 2 caps sit in the helmet. All 3 go in the noggen in one move. I wear a gaitor too.

Hey Joe is the back of that helmet high enough to use on a road bike? Had a BMX helmet a few years back that worked great except, it wouldn't let you crouch down on the drops.

VR, I have to agree with Joe,

I'd go with a vented winter sports helmet or a bike freeride helmet. They have more clearance for goggles and they come down more in the back to keep the back of your head warm. They have only just enough venting to let moisture escape and are much warmer than well ventilated bike helmets. Plus they are designed for even higher impact speeds. Generally you won't need anything more than one thin hat or balaclava under them since they are a lot warmer than a bike helmet and can be found cheaper too.

It is easier to size them because you don't have to wear as much on your head with them to stay warm.

I just wear a beanie under my regular helmet that I have removed the pads from!
