I'm really kind of confused about the design of my Ritchey WCS Cross Carbon fork. The top of the crown is really, really wide, so wide that the headset (which I don't yet have, but will be King no threadset) will not mate neatly to the fork. In other words, it looks like a lot of extra fork where the fork and headset meet. If this makes no sense, maybe I can post a picture.

Does anyone know if there's a reason for this. It may bother me aesthetically but if it's a functional problem, that's worse....

it sounds like you have a fork designed to be intrgated with the frame. this is a popular design for road bikes and it makes for a clean look.
