Folding Bikes - GoBike available through WestMarine

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi Gang,
Just got an e-mail from Inter-Axion, the North American distributor for GoBike. It appears that GoBike is now available in the US through West Marine.
For a limited time see our special introductory offer described here (http://www.gobikeworld.com/Availability_home/Special_offer/spec_offer.html) for $999.99. Go to your local West Marine and ask the manager for the model # 9366410. Ask right know for a test drive!

fyi: the URL listed in your post results in West Marine's 'store locator' page...
- but i did find the gobike listing using WM's search widget...
- i don't know much about folders (but have read through this subforum)... can anyone chime in with "Why i might consider a GoBike?"
- tks!

I've never ridden one, but it sure has gotten great reviews. It has full suspension and disc brakes. Weighs in at a back breaking 28 pounds, but sure looks good.

The GoBike is all about Bling. You can just imagine riding that bike down the street with only one fork!

Back breaking at 28lbs???... That's only 2-3lbs more than a Dahon Speed D7 or Tikit...not svelte, but I wouldn't say that's a weight that is problematic - especially for a full-suspension bike.

Hmmmm ... if it doesn't roll well, then I think the original description is appropriate. My wife, for instance, is definitely very sensitive to bike weight. Moreover, with weight limits being enforced more strictly--this statement is just based on anecdotal stories, no official statistics--those extra pounds can be expensive.
