Road Bike Racing - 'Twas the night before Christmas...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

...and after I finished wrapping everyone else's presents, I gave myself mine (OK, put some finishing touches on them).

Thus, after the better part of a month in building and chasing down parts I wanted for it, these:

As members of my '08 racing stable, as replacements for my Scale and P2SL. The P2C is getting new tires, and the Epic will get the bars narrowed a bit, plus the dork disc removed.

Anyways, I'm proud of myself. While I didn't build the Epic (major props to Specialized for sponsoring our team!), the P2C has been a serious undertaking, and is by far the most quality work I've done on a bike build ever.

What's sad, is that they're being joined by one of the naked Bottecchia frames in January, which is getting the CR1's Force Kit, so the CR1 can get Red Shifters and new Force Schwag. THEN, I will be officially tapped out in the bike department for a few millenia...

Nice setups.

You'll be contemplating your next big purchase by St Patty's day.

I doubt it. I'm using the rest of this year's bike allotment to race above toys.

I hate you. Not only do you have expensive bikes, you have good taste in expensive bikes.

How much seatpost do you have left in the frame on your Specialized? ;)

Almost none, haha. I wanted the Medium for the reach, though, and am *very* happy I opted for it now over the large. Long Legs, short Torso, hooray!

Christ you ride with huge saddle to bar drops.

I consider myself flexible (I'm the most flexible person I know) and I don't run that much drop. But I'm also 6'3" with a long torso.

Yeah, I downsize my frames so I can pull it off. I stretch a *lot* and am pretty short at 5'9". I've tried riding more upright and I hate it. Makes me feel like I'm riding a Lazy Boy recliner or something.

damn... I have a job, and it pays for rent and food. Then I take out loans for my portion of the tuition (about $10k a year). You are one lucky *******.
You can't possibly be undergrad... right?

Nice bikes :) I take consolation in the fact that my mtb is still nicer ;)

yeah, i have a job, but because of my major can only work to make about 5 grand a year... that helps pay the rent and with just enough left over for very nice but used parts i snipe for cheap on ebay

All of my bikes look the same way so it's the first thing I notice. :o
