Great Lakes - What bike goodies did you get for the holidays?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

A healthy and safe family.
Bought myself a new cyclocross bike.
Garmin 305 I bought a few weeks back
Commuter jacket from wife.
I will most likely get some new shoes and pedals for my cyclocross rig using the Performance points and 20% off coupon.
An "official" CSC Euro issue jersey from my wife's brother in law. Think that one happened when this last summer he informed me he was now working for CSC and I said "hook me up with some corporate store schwag!"
An "artsy" picture taken on my morning commute route framed nicely for my office.
I will probably buy a new fixed gear bike, and a new comuter light this week as well.
It's been a good year.

Aww....and you get to miss out on this:
Sounds right for the bikes, but I also have te wife's rigs too. I'm being told I need to start selling some. Thankfully she wants me to sell hers.
I am trying to get rid of my fixed gear - or at least the frame. Doesn't fit well.
Planing on buying a new one :D. I think either a Specialized Langster if I feel like wasting money, or more likely a Bikes Direct one.

No no. You still get the privilege of the real work.
I'm just going to sully it up something fierce first and give you a challenge. You love a challenge.
:D
That looks like a fun weekend project. As for me, I got cash to spend however I like. I'm debating on bib shorts, new "quiet" trainer, or putting it towards the cc (but what fun is that?)

Just read some manuels and you'll be fine. Just think it through first. I think one replacement headset is already too many in a frame's lifetime.
Bought myself a new cyclocross bike.
Comments like these are useless without pics :D
Or at least a brand/model name if it is a stock bike

Sorry...It's a 2008 Fuji Cross Pro. Even the Fuji site doesn't have it up correctly yet (page shows 2008, but hover over shows 2007 model). The rig itself is still at the shop. Some yahoo at Performance stripped out the rivnut bottle mount...so I'm letting some of their other yahoos repair it.
You'll have to check out the site to see an actual picture. It's the red, black and white one. If you see a silver one that is last years.

Already planning revisions to it. It will become my commuter. The DA RD will go on my Giant...unless I decide to buy another DA RD ;). Need a new saddle, etc. Oh well. I needed something to do right?

I think my only bike-related gift was my annual Velo News training journal. Technically I had to order it on 12/24 becuase it was sold out locally, leaving my wife high and dry on that gift idea. But she still got new toe warmers from me.

Correct. I paid $1398 I believe. I was working withthe owner at Main Street Bicycles in Carpentersville to build up a rig and I was in the $1500-$1700 range just with 105, and only a few components (with me still supplying the rest :( ).
This one is full Ultegra with a DA RD an was even cheaper and comes with everything. A no brainer really.
Just got a Performance gift card from the parents. Schweet.

My wife, however, ended up with a '07 Trek Pilot 5.0. She won this year.:D

The only thing I got that was remotely bike related was a 4G MP3 player that holds pics, vids and some other stuff. Thankfully it wasn't an iPod, because I don't feel trendy enough to own one.

To help my quench my thirst for more bike-camping and bike touring, Santa brought me a Coleman eXponent F1 Powerboost Stove, and the fuel for it, a set of pans to use on it, a Park Tools bottle opener for the Spotted Cow in April ;-). And last but not least, a pair of Nike cool weather long finger gloves.

The only bike schwag that I got is a recycled dura ace chain bottle opener, cool little gift from my sister. All I had on my Christmas listed was bike schwag and a couple Blu-Ray movies. Didn't get anything on my list! lol So much for making a list.

The Quotable Cyclist book, hundreds of quotes about bikes and cycling by everyone from Claudio Chiapucci to John Lennon to JFK (and recognizable cycling people, too). And a DOORS short sleeve jersey (okay, so I'm a DOORS addict, but since they ARE the best band ever...). And some excellent Belgian beers, which I could always drink after a ride (like they'll last that long until spring;))
