I went to performance over the weekend for my wife and saw the R660 in my size. The guy I know offered me a ride and boy was it nice to hop on a bike that just launched when I started pedalling. Now I have wanted this bike for years and tommorow the 07 is on closeout and I can earlybird it for another 20% off or so..
Problem is I'm still over 260.. Sooo Is it even possible to ride this with any reliability?
The first things I'd can see doing is get a different wheelset (comes with 20 aero spokes) and seat post (carbon). Anyone ride one or similar with much success or am I just asking for it.
I want a pure fast bike not a tough commuter bike. I have a fuji touring xtracycle and I may soon get a Giro 26 recumbent commuter so this would be my bare minimum lights only bike.
I also saw a surly cross check this weekend but it was in the wrong size. It had some nice bar end shifters but it felt marginally better then my touring bike only so didn't seem worth getting. Of course at the end of my 42 mile commute instead of a 2 mile test ride might be a completely different story.
