I want to start a thread in the Commuting forum based on the article at this link:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/12/26/MNLDU44LC.DTL&hw=europeans&sn=005&sc=732

I have know idea if it's going to appear correctly. (I guess I'll see when I look at this post.) Is this how you post a link? Sorry for the newbie question but, that's what I am!

Hi jhalv, yes, you've got the basics down...

If you want to include a link in this (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/12/26/MNLDU44LC.DTL&hw=europeans&sn=005&sc=732) fashion, then hit the 'reply with quote' at the bottom of the page, and look at how I've enclosed 'this'

It's a [ followed by the url closed with a ] then 'this' then another [ followed with /url]

I know, not the best explanation. I had to do a lot of practice before I caught on. Do previews of your messages to make sure things look the way you want them to.

Oh, and Welcome to Bike Forums :) !

If you want to include a link to something not on BF, just type the word or phrase that you want people to click to get to the link. Then highlight the word or phrase and click on the http://www.bikeforums.net/images/editor/createlink.gif icon above. Then type in the url of the website and click ok. Presto! It's done.
The link term(s) will be underlined, kinda like the links in my signature.

This of course is the much easier way :p !

The only way I know what mine says is because I wrote it. I wish I had more time to read. And write.
