Actually, I didn't even notice them until I turned on my helmet light and saw them falling through the beam. They stayed with me up on the hill, but petered out as I got closer to the city. There were a very few of them as I passed through the city proper.

So, can I now claim that I've ridden in snow for this year?? Does this make me an Extreme Commuter??

I had to laugh really hard at the news last night. They were playing scenes from the big storm we had last year (which I also rode in) and saying that this *could* be just as bad, even though the temperature predictions were for the lower 40s.

So, is it PANIC first, then run around, or the other way around?

Hey, it's snowing RIGHT NOW here! You da man! Extreme Commuter, yes (well, for Seattle!).

I think it's PANIC first :) .

I'm heading out right now so I can say the same thing, but I'd like to say that I saw what I was doing :D .

I got back from my ride a few minutes ago and it's still snowing. Doesn't appear to be sticking though.

Just rain so far here at Lake Union. I wonder what it looks like at home in Everett.

I see flakes on the road every day commuting in. Wait, are you talking about the weather?

:roflmao:

I just got up to see that there's slushy stuff all over the road up here on the East Hill! Looks as if it will be slick for the ride home tomorrow  .

Y'all take care tomorrow morning!

When I lived in Chattanooga the TV News people could report the sighting of a single snowflake somewhere within 40 miles and the city began to shut down for the rest of the day. Schools would dismiss early. People flocked to the grocery stores. It was hilly there. When snow did come, it was usually wet and the ground was warm. Overnight slush would freeze and turn to ice. No one knew how to drive in snow. They assumed a pick-up truck was more effective than a car, but did not understand the principle of weight over the drive axle meant increased traction.

Today we in the Boise area are getting some of the storm you in Seattle and Portland had yesterday. We were told to expect from one to six inches of snow overnight. We might have gotten an inch. I went out and rode my 14.4 miles. The hardest part was the 17 mph wind on the way home. A couple of times the bike shuddered when the front wheel hit a little ridge of ice left over from a previous storm and felt like it could dump me.

Overnight all the snow had melted off...and now it's not even raining! Good news for at least the south end commuters here :D .

Let's hope you don't bring snow! I don't think it's in the forecast though.

What are you going to be doing here?

Moving to the Seattle area for a new position within the company i work for, I'm a computer technician. I can't wait to get there, from what I've heard, the trails are great in that area. Will also be going to sandiego for a couple weeks in early February and plan to bring my bike to make the most of that too :p

I knew i liked working for this company for a reason :D

Had me worried there, East Hill :) I was all ready to fire up the generator and whip out the emergency rations!

I hope it all clears out before I have to ride in the morning! The suspense is awful!

What snow? I think it's hilarious. Everyone is all freaked out about it - every time. I think the news stations do it just to generate new stories. Although last week I did have some problems with my brakes freezing up intermittently. Snow not an issue, ice an issue.

Hehehe, this morning there was again snow at home, but none on the way home from work! By this afternoon, it was gone, and the sun was shining :D .

I don't like ice, snow I can handle...

E. H. Where are these snowflakes that you speak of? We need pictures, I have not seen such a thing here in the banana belt of East Pierce county of course not in the valley. Although I did see a couple cars at the AM PM this morning with some strange white stuff on them.

Ha! The sky was again chunking down those big fat white things on my way home! It looks as if it has changed over to rain, though. By the time it's light enough to get a photo, the big white globs have left :p .

At 0500 this morning in Mill Creek, there was about 1/4 inch of snow on the ground and roadways. It was down to about 1/8 inch in Everett when I got to work at 0630. It is currently mainly rain with an occasional flake mixed in and the snow on the ground has turned to slush.

On my ride in this morning, there was snow in Burien. This was at 6:00. It was on the lawns dirt. The sides of the roads were mostly slush, and the middles were pretty clean. It was OK to ride on; I just rode in the lane more than I usually do and took it a little easier when I had to ride the slush. By the time I got down off the hill and into South Park, it was all gone. Just rain for the rest of the way into downtown.

At least it wasn't windy.

I'm surprised we haven't yet had one of those REALLY cold days with snow yet this January. We're overdue...

We had a few inches in Olympia this am. It was slush rather than snow by the time I got on the road but still...

And sheesh, talk about rolling resistance!

I made the mistake of watching the news tonight, just to see what's happening in New Hampshire, anyway the news girl was leading into the weather and she stated "the snow is wet, heavy and falling where people live" geez, isn't this stuff written for them before hand or do they think on their feet?

I think I'll leave the TV off for a while.
