I have a NiteRider Evolution Smart light and was thinking about getting the NiteRider Universal Taillight. But the pictures show a clear lens. The question is, is it a clear or red light? I had heard that LED's can give off a color different light with out adding a colored lens.

Yeah, like you see in pretty much all your electronics. Red leds, blue leds, green... etc.

It appears to be clear LEDs with a Red Lens. Here's the MTBR review:

I would definitely recommend the Dinotte Taillaight in either AA or Lithium version over the NiteRider.

if someone already has a niterider, this added niterider taillight is the way to go
they are very bright
