I'm going to peruse a bit...although I'll be half asleep coming off of a 3rd shift.
I'll probably try to go . . . I picked up some pedals last year . . . who knows what kind of upgrade I'll find.

Is it usually bargain bin / used stuff or is there vendors / bike shops there as well?
Both. Majority of it is used stuff, but Wheel and Sprocket had a space there last year, as did (I think) one of the Madison area shops.

Tip from a local: Bring your winter bike along and park for free at nearby Olin-Turville Park. A short 5-minute ride down the bike path and you're at the Alliant Center. Stop by our booth and introduce yourself!

Got a pair of Quickstep socks for five bucks there last year...not much there in terms of solid deals on clothing.
I'm in!!!
I'm also helping a vendor schlep in stuff so I can cruise the tables before they let in the general public riff-raff. Sorry folks, all the good stuff will be gone before you enter the door. ;):D

To everybody that has been:
Whats the probability that I will find a cyclocross frameset in a 56-57cm? I mean is this the type of stuff I'm gonna be seeing, or is it mostly vintage parts and complete bikes?
And if I bring a frameset that I have and carry it around with a sign that says "for sale" is that frowned upon?
I believe there is some sort of "corral" for your frame, it may cost you $10 (or less) to put it in there. 90% of the stuff is "new", 10% is vintage. As for the cross frame, I have no clue.

I and a few friends will be car pooling. It's become an annual tradition. I've been going since b4 it was held at the Alliant Energy Center.

I'm hoping there's snow (fingers crossed), so I'll be XC skiing.

How was your swapping? I picked up a saddle bag for a buck, a jersey for 5 and a pair of gloves for 18. Not too bad. Saw a left Tiagra shifter for $5 but I didn't buy it.
Truing stand - $10
Single-side Campy cable guide - $5
Being there before they opened the doors to the public - priceless... no, literally, I didn't have to pay for parking or admission. ;) There was a lot of good stuff I passed on, it was a good swap.

I scored a pair of pedals, jacket, and mini pump, and took some good looks at wheels, but didn’t leave with any. I can back up the ridiculously busy too.

I went, first time, and it was great. At first I just wandered around and bought a few vintage parts and bits from people's $1 bins. A couple of things I'll use, some others I just couldn't resist. "I suppose I could shine them up and sell them on ebay," was my rationalization.
Then just when I thought I was ready to leave, I hit the jackpot! Found a late-1970s Suntour Cyclone GT rear derailleur. (Like this (http://velobase.com/ViewSingleComponent.aspx?ID=9C9A73FD-A345-4B2D-B524-66C9B1D79350&Enum=108&AbsPos=0))
This was a huge find for me, since my 1977 road bike has its original Suntour Cyclone FD (like this (http://www.velobase.com/ViewSingleComponent.aspx?ID=1E58C32D-1D6D-4F86-8F1A-9C1F7B8F6474&Enum=113&AbsPos=10)). But its original RD, probably a matching first-generation Suntour Cyclone, is lost to history. The GT version that I found, with the longer cage, is perfect since I'm rebuilding the bike with a 32t large cog freewheel in back for lower gearing on those murderous SW WI century challenge rides. For $15, that was the best surprise find I could hope for!
I did not find a 3-speed Sturmey-Archer thumb shifter for my wife's bike project, but I did find a local seller who says he has those in his shop.
