General Cycling Discussion - Interesting Situations

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Someone posted a thread on bicycles in interesting places. I thought I would post one for bikes in interesting situations.
This series tells a little story about a cat in Pavia Italy.
What is that I smell?

Battered and deep fried, the way the Lord intended chicken to be.

Actually it rotisserie chicken. There are wagons in almost every outdoor market in Italy that makes the stuff. It seems to be pretty popular. Most towns have an outdoor market / and or a rotissericia (at least I think that is how it is spelled in Italian. :))
I don't have photos but .....
When I was cycling in Australia, the Australians warned me about the kangaroos. They'd unexpectedly jump out in front of cyclists, often when cyclists were flying down a hill ... and of course the results would be disasterous, mainly for the cyclist. So I lived in fear that a kangaroo was going to do this to me. I saw a lot of kangaroos, and some even hopped along side me for a while, but fortunately none ever hopped out in front of me.
However, there I was descending a hill down to the ocean, when all of a sudden a CHICKEN came running out onto the road in front of me. I swerved to miss it, but the bird also swerved so that it was right in front of me. I swerved again, and the chook swerved too. Then it began running down the hill right in front of me, swerving with me so that it was always right in front of me. I could swear smoke was coming from my brakes, and I was cycling all over the entire road trying to dodge this chicken.
Finally it dashed back into the trees again and I continued on my way.
When I got to the bottom of the hill I said to my friend ... "They warned me about the kangroos! They never said anything about the chickens!!"

That wasn't a chicken. It was a kangaroo dressed as a chicken.

:roflmao:she was playing chicken with you!:roflmao:
...sorry, couldn't resist:p
I get paced by 'roos, wallabies, and cockatoos all the time on my long rides, but never had one jump out in front of me. I often see snakes on the road shoulders in the mornings, and I had to bunnyhop over a wombat once.... but I'm yet to encounter the chook! :D

Why did the chicken force Machka to cross the road?
(Sorry, couldn't resist)
