My son will be relocating to Eglin AFB in a couple weeks and if anyone knows of good riding routes in the area please post them. He rides both road and mountain bikes. Thanks

Emerald Coast Cyclists meet every Saturday for a group ride. The rides start at various locations around the Niceville area. Check the newsletter on our website for start times and locations. http://www.eccyclists.com/

Dragon sports, one of the local bike shops, has some maps of local rides on their website. http://www.dragonsports.net/master_map.htm

You could also check out the west florida wheelmen. They ride mostly out of Pensacola and are supposed to be a good and active group. I live about 2 hours west of Pensacola so I have no personal experiance with them, but their reputation is good.

Saturday morning at Truly Spokin' (bike shop) in Milton, FL a road group ride goes out. The bike shop is right at the head of the Blackwater trail. Meets at 0830 right now and 0730 when it starts to warm back up. There are some people there who also mountain bike and can show him some of the local trails.

I am work at Whiting Field NAS and ride all around the area if you have any questions at all.
