My bike ate my RD, the only serous damage was to the drop arm, I've replaced that now! The cage is way out of true, I can only run the bike thru 4 of 9 rings, it's a dam big mess. So can I fix this or is it best to pay the LBS way to much to do it for me?

Rear derailleurs are pretty much replace rather than repair items. Repair parts largely unavailable for seriously damaged links or cages. See your LBS for a new one.

The "parts" are in good shape, the only loss was the arm, that's I've replaced. The bent or out of adjustment stuff is what I'd like to take care of. Where to start, bent cage, limit settings, drop arm alinement?
