You still did just great, Cleave! :) And you're still a youngin - IMO! You look great and can beat most up a mountain any day.

Besides, Steve is nuts. :p ;)

J/K, Steve. :D

200 miles to go!
a bit too much for you... let me explain:
2007 wasn't a leap year, so we are talking 364 days (so far, with 2 days left for the year we had 362 days); 19,800/362=54.7 miles per day
so you will need to double your average to get this 200 miles in the 2 days left in the year :roflmao:

Steve, you are amazing; 19800 is 380 miles per week avg!

I, I think, have close to 10,000 miles this year. On the 1st of 2008 I will reset and write my odometer so I can have a true number at the end of 2008.

I think that's about what the pro riders do. My friend Mike used to do 20-25,000 every year, but he didn't have a job. How do you avoid burn-out? Is it still fun most of the time?

Most of the time. At this moment it feels like a job.

20,000 miles is like a part time job, approx 1,000 to 1,200 hours a year. A typical work week is 40 hours x 50 weeks (2 weeks off for vacation) = 2,000 hours.

Yes, I have a regular office job, although the hours are somewhat flexible. I get most of my riding in before work and on weekends.

200 miles to go!

Are you an aspiring professional cyclist? That's awesome, I haven't even accumulated that many miles on my car, while cycling, or running combined this year.

Also with that many miles under your belt, do you have a set route you take regularly? Are these on road miles, or combined with trainer. Congrats though, that's heart!

Regular road miles. No trainer. I have several routes that I take fairly regularly... there's not many options directly in town.

OMG...that is beyond cute, and no offense, but Kim is cuter than you! Tell her she cracked me up with all of her commentary. The whole "2,000" vs. "20,000" miles...classic! You two are the most adorable couple. :)

whats really impressive is A) rode 20,000 and didn't get paid and B) it was done on a TCR. nice upgrades!
ps not knocking the bike just the geo is a bit off for such long distance. looks like it works well for you..

Hehe. We did a first "take" where she asked how many miles I did and I kept saying 2000, and she kept asking is that all? And then she realized she forgot to hit record... I know she's cuter than me though, that's her job :p

I prefer agressive geometry... I'm very flexible and don't really have any discomfort after long rides. Would be nice to get paid though.

what was the longest number of days off the bike (i.e any trip, sick, leave...)

I missed this post so I'm sorry I didn't answer your question. If you mean consecutive days off the bike, I doubt more than 1 or 2. Total can't be more than a dozen. Its hard to say for sure because I didn't keep very good ride/daily records before I got my Garmin. If it rained I went spinning. I missed a day when I was sick, and I think a few days that were exclusively travel.
