Booties for size 13 Mountain Bike shoe.

I wear size 13 Nike Mountain Bike shoes which I use for just about everything. These shoes pose a problem, being size 13, plus having a larger set of mud cleats then road cycling shoes, it is hard to find a set of cold/rain booties that will fit them well. I previously owned some made by BellWeather, however the larger shoe size put a lot of pressure on the zipper which gave out after wearing them about 10 times.

Any recommendations for types and where to look?

I had the same issue. PI Amfib XXLs did not fit my shoes (they fit one of the riding gang's 46s). I purchased a pair of Lake winter shoes off Ebay. There are some deals on 47 & 48s from time to time.

Stopped by my LBS today and he set me up with some Gators (http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=15534). I'm an 11 and the large went on perfect. An XL would probably be a good fit. Wouldn't be the best rain boot, but for cold they're great.

I wear a 12 aka 47 Shimano mountain shoe with size 14 Performance booties. The booties are a bit loose so I'd bet that they'll fit a 13 if your shoes aren't overly thick. The Performance booties work well. The zippers stay put. Also they are on sale right now.

A few years ago I bought a pair of basic Trek brand booties that fit over size 14 mtb shoes. Size XXL I believe.

The PI Amfib XXLs are to small for my shoe also, hard to believe they are "XXL".

The Lake Winter Shoes look really nice, the new pairs run about $149.00 new on E-Bay, a little pricey but they look warm and waterproof.

I talked to my LBS and another guy from Performance about the Gators. Neither places carried them, both recommended them, however they could order them. Price was about $50. For the price these look to be better bang for the buck then the Lake Winter Shoes (assuming they keep the wind and water out).

Performance didn't have any of their booties for size 13, these look like a good option also, price $24.99 on sale. Durable???

As for the Trek Booties, I could not find any in size XXL, however the XL booties where WAY to small, I question wether the XXL would be big enough. $39.99

Also, I came across a set of Louis Garneau Protect Booties. These look to be sized comparable to the BellWeathers that just failed on me, however they use Velcro in the back and are stretchy. Being stretchy and considering that Velcro is a little more forgiving the zippers, I think these may work. Will investigate, on sale right now at Performance at $19.99, they where out of stock on the XL size.

As a temporary solution, I picked up a set of Performance Toesties Toe Warmers. These cover the front and top part of the shoe, which for me is of the most concern. I figure if nothing else I can throw in toe warmer and just deal with my feet getting wet quicker in rainy weather. $11.99 on sale. These might end up being all that I need, if not I figure they will hold me over till I get a set that completely covers the shoe.

I wear size 13 summer and 14 winter and the only booties I could find that fit are Sidetracks. They fit nicely. I got one pair on E-bay and another at LBS. Currently a pair is offered on E-bay but more $$ than either pair I got.

REI sells the Gators, although not sure about the XXL size.

Gator in XL will fit. I wear them with my size 49 Specialized shoes.

why not just get yourself a set of the seal skinz socks to keep your feet warm and dry in the wet weather. Not such a big deal if your feet are dry but your shoes arent is it?

I have size 48 shoes and found a pair of booties at Mountain Equipment Coop (www.mec.ca) that are even a bit loose on my shoes. They could work.
