Just wondered if any of you guys notice hot looking women checking you out when in stop and go city traffic. Giving you this look like you could ring their bell anytime you wish. Had it happen three times last month, not sure why its happening but I really like it. Any tales of you guys out there are getting flirted with too ?

It is here that I must reveal myself the narcisistic ego driven maniac that I am, who cannot ride past a shop window or parked car without glancing at my reflection (purely to check my technique or course).
Unfortunately, whenever I perceive a car to be slowing down to tail me and observe a "super athlete" in motion, it invariably turns out to be a little old grey haired lady, or elderly man wearing a hat or an uncertain learner driver with recent citizenship status...as they struggle to gauge whether they can safely pass me or not. :D
High speed drafting (60-80km/hr) of traffic can draw some surprised and admiring glances, but truly, their understanding of the effort required is minimal, and alas, you are but 5 seconds of distraction before they take one hand off the wheel to make a cell phone call and almost run you off the road in the process.
Oh, the callousness of it all. LOOK AT ME, LOVE ME, PLEASSSE!:D

My wife thinks they must, and it's to my advantage to let her think that. :p

You'll get noticed if you pull up to the ride in a BMW Z3 and pull out your new SEVEN. Then you ask one of the guy's where you should ride this weekend. Should I do the California wine country thing again or should I go to my chalet in the Swiss Alps? I think that might get you noticed.
As for a Joe Blow like myself, not terribly likely,:D but thats okay too.

in all the womans magazines my girlfriend reads and all the other crap i read when desperate at doctors offices i have never read anything about a cyclist, maybe your just very attractive and you would get looks if you were in a golf cart or anything else, i doubt the bicycle has anything to do with it.
A friend told me the way to get women to notice you when you are in cycling shorts is to roll up some socks and stuff them down your shorts.
I tried that and they noticed me, but always had a strange look of disgust on their faces.
Maybe he should have made it clear that you should stuff the socks down the FRONT of your shorts.

It is my gift, my curse. I am usually mobbed by hundreds of women when I ride. Luckily this was a good training technique. Now I can usually outrun them before they rear my clothes off. Sometimes I let them catch me.

I meant tear my clothes off.
I seem to get more looks while running. It must be a surprise to see someone with shaved legs running.

Have not been on enough group/sag supported tours.. The one large group ride I did go on, there was this certain woman who obviously was worried about lonely nights. At lucnhes when she found a companion, she was not discreet. You would see her gaping from time to time at whomever.
The camping spots, a couple times the shower water was pretty cold. Vetran cyclists who toured a lot, said the Tour De Oregon is known for tent hopping? Said the tour has a huge following and anywhere from 500-800 cyclists attend;so there is the potential for lots of Tent hopping.
Women/men spending the whole day together in Lyrca seems it has a potential to compete with Hedeonism in Jamaica? Anyway, this one previously mentioned female cyclists; she was amazing. Her Jersey's.. I did not know 'Frederick's of Hollywood' sold womans bicycling jerseys.. She was a huge distraction at breakfast, when people are gearing up for a days' riding.
Years ago when I jogged, and was a lot thinner, and did some work with weights; I recall passing female motorists doing the cat call thing.. In Florida you would have to jog either with runners tank tops or shirtless. The humidity..
I was single then and wondered where these harassers where at night in the bars...

Women tend to be attracted to men in good shape. I do a couple of rides per week with a group I race with from my club (read - all of us are real lean guys) and we tend to attract some attention from the opposite sex. It helps when were in the recreational areas of the city where lots of young women jog and work out, although cat calls from a passing car isn't unheard of.
To turn this on it's head, i certainly notice fit young women when they are out cycling (running, walking, sitting, lying down or anywhere else for that matter) I suspect it works both ways.

The majority of women I have seen attracted to ROADIES have had 5 o'clock shadows and Adam's Apples (DG Crit, CS Crit, etc...). Something you roadies want to tell the rest of us?
met one of my ex girlfriends while out riding.]I was trackstanding at the traffic lights she was a pedestrian, just casually walking past and having a good perv, smiled and walked straight into the pedestrian traffic light.
Cracked me up so much I fell off laughing :-)
Picked myself up and apologised for embarassing her (which she did perfectly well on her own)
gave her number and got a call two nights later.
dated for about 3-4 months.
Then my friends and I were devirginised by a group of girls in a beach buggy. It was terrible I tell you :-)
driving next to us flashing their breasts and rubbing their fresh litter of kitties :-).......
ahhhhh to be home again........

Very often. The thing is that I am in training so is not like I am riding my bike to pickup women. :) What I want to do during my off season is to ride with recreational clubs and maybe I will meet someone special. Or, at least, socialize some more.
Not to Brag but a few years ago a woman at a stoplight asked if she could
feel my "lycra". Needless to say she was cute so I let her proceed.
I'm not sure if I get looks while riding, but I certainly get many when I'm waiting at intersections. My g/f always asks why I have to wear revealing biker clothes. She says its too much advertising. I say, "I have to, It's Road Biker Law!" LMAO :D
I definately get the most looks when I finish riding and just make a simple shoe change and go jogging on a trail.

Im almost certain that if women are checking me out they are thinking, "Geez, that guy needs to exercise more to work off that gut!" Sad but, hey its only a little tummy. :D

:D :D :D I get that too (200lbs)...
But since MTBs are very popular here, I also get the "why are the tires on your Mountain Bike so small".
Some of the most incredible comments I have ever read are here in this thread.

Whether they're checking me out or not, it's fun to pretend that's the case :D They're probably just by surprised by our legs, which aren't all that common in America...
