I recently purchased a norco 1000 road bike but have been unable to find out anything about it. It is a sturdy touring bike that can easily hold its own with any new road bike. If anyone knows anything about this thing please share.
thanks
I have no idea if this is related info or not but; I've heard of a company called Norco which is an abbreviation for "Northern Company" and is a large Chinese trading firm. Amongst other things they have (still do?) import semi-auto versions of Chinese military firearms. I have a small interest in antique guns and remember seeing the Norcos all over a show once.
So possibly it's a Chinese bike but then maybe there's more than one Norco out there...

Norco is made in British Columbia and they are still making road, comfort and mountain bikes. I am not familiar with the 1000-touring bike, but I did have a look at an old 80’s Norco touring bike this spring and it came with Shimano 600 components and look like a sturdy bike.

Obviously theres more than one "Norco" out there...

Norco has been around for a long time and make reputable bikes, mostly mtb's. I have a 1980's Nishiki road bike frame I fished out of a scrap bin has "designed by Norco" on it.

The bike was made in Japan, but designed in BC. It's late 70's ish. Does anyone know where I could find some more?
