View Full Version : The drinking holiday is nearly upon us
And I'd like to remind all those that to choose to indulge, to please not drive, or even ride. Because not everyone else will be so conscientious Monday night. If you can, avoid being on the road at all, so you'll be with us in 2008.
Cheers,

I'm staying home on NYE, and I'll be drinking orange juice with lime and soda since I gave up the hooch about a week ago.
Hope everyone else has a happy and safe NYE!

Impossible for me. I'm working New Year's Eve. I am NOT riding my bike, however.

All I can say is it's going to be a lot safer to trash around on Bike Forums....:D
If you do go out partying though, a cab ride home is a lot cheaper than a DUI, Hospitalization or funeral.
Happy New year to all of the Clyde's and Athena's :D

I am not sure what we are doing. Probably hosting a sober party for my daughters' and their friends. They know they can't come to my house if they have been drinking, because if they do, they will either deal with their parents or the police or both. We have lost too many school aged kids in our small town, and we don't need to lose any more.

I drink about one beer every 3 or 4 years. Just not my thing so I'm safe!:D............Oh, and I never finish it!:p
Me and my friends make up this awesome game. Where you have to drink a beer, then if you drink it all, you win another beer!
Tomorrow night I am going for the high score.
Going for a ride through Times-Square. It will probably be one of the safest nights to be out on the road in NYC with most of midtown closed to cars and many, many checkpoints set up.
My entire stable will be going out - have three friends borrowing them. Woot!

Isn't that game called "Drink the Beer"? I think I've played that one a time or two before. The worst night was when we decided to drink until we couldn't feel feelings anymore.
Seriously though tonight I plan on riding the trainer then going to bed about 10ish. No booze and defiantly no sourkraught (sp...nowhere close) for me this year.

Staying in with the kids playing board games til midnight or they fall asleep. So probably 10ish. I haven't been on the bike in at least 2 weeks:o:(, and it shows, I have gained about 7 over the holidays. I am planning on changing that today. I am going for a ride this late morning/afternoon to avoid the idiots.

Well now that it IS January.....
We went for a nice dinner, across the road from our church, and then went to the watch night service, it was starting to snow as we came out, we headed straight home, I don't want to be anywhere near the roads after the bars close, snow covered roads + boozed up people who think they drive better drunk then sober, is not a good combination......
I think you mean sauerkraut....

Good morning and Happy New Year all!
No Hangover, and 13 miles indoors...This year is off to a great start:D
Happy New Year!
We took our grandson on out traditional New Year's camping trip, pretty safe out in a tent in the semi-wilderness. 11 miles of trail riding is a lot harder than 11 miles of road biking, guess it's time to start looking for an off road ride.

I was up at 5am to walk my dog. But then I went back to sleep for another 3 hours.
No hangover. I only drank Sonoma Sparklers blood orange juice last night. And water.
Happy New Year, everybody. I'm gonna go crank out 50 miles while the weather's nice.

No hangover, since I don't drink. All the better to enjoy 20 miles this afternoon with a poster to the 50+ Forum.

That's the difference between "lanky lass" and "gigantic freakin' Sasquatch". It's gonna take more than this wimpy 12-14mph breeze to bowl me over.:D
