Folding Bikes - anyone toured on a folding bike?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am also becoming reluctant to use the F'lite as it doesn't have TSA approved locks so I have to leave it unlocked and stuff has been vanishing.
What do you mean? Baggage handlers taking stuff or TSA? What has been stolen? Worrisome.

I can't lock the case if I have to go through a TSA checkpoint or if they want to inspect it they break the case. As a result I have lost items such as nice LED tactical flashlights that double as nice bike headlights. I have lost a Garmin GPS. I have lost probably close to $500 worth of stuff the past year. It really is depressing. Sometimes the SOB's even forget to put back on my TSA approved locks on my other suitcase. On 1 trip alone I lost 4 of those locks and at $10 a pop it wasn't cheap.

Is there any monetary recourse for "missing" items? Is it worth having an inventory list taped inside the case, so that they can see that you are aware of all the packed contents.

I HAD an inventory that they could check things against. What terrorist is going to list all his items? I didn't get squat back when I wrote the TSA even though I was told I could. I kept everything plastic bags so they could easily see what was in them. I had a detailed list of all items in my suitcase taped to the inside top. I had further lists of each item in the little bags. It is all a waste of time.

Isn't that what BF for the most part is offering. Being a lazy guy, I don't like to tinker too much.
Here is basically the BF trailer but you can build your own. They have other variations.
