Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Red and Blue Stars at right of user name?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I guess it has to do with status or function. Where do you explain such?

What is the difference between a blue and a red one?

Blue stars are moderators (beware), Red stars are people who have paid a one time subscription which removes all the ads.

So, if a person with a blue star sends you a polite message...be polite back :) .

Thanks I thought Red Stars was Mods and Blue Stars was Admins or Owner of Forum or Board of Directors or something. Ok I try to be polite then.

Nope, Blue is for Moderators and Admin and owners...:D

Tom did you notice that Chop! wanted you to retrieve a post
he did in the Lordan Foldable Bike thread.
Me asking help with splitting up the thread accidently deleted
his question? In some country they require two independent
brake systems. In my country they maybe don't have that
requirement so that could be for Argentina too.

Chop!'s question on how the Lordan bike brakes which to me
was overlooked, it drowned for me in all the mocking of Argentina
as an industrial country which to me is a total derail and not polite
to someone being from that country when I have invited him to
get active so me was too eager so me forgot to ask you if the
software allow for parts to get saved before you did anything drastic.

I hope Chop! could let it just pass but he wants his post to be retrieved
if that one is available in the archive or similar.

Happy New Year.

Am I starting to see purple stars - or maybe I am misinterpreting the blue ones? What does the eagle mean? (Sheldon-related?) I've looked around for a legend - maybe put one in the header of the Members List or somewhere in FAQs? Thx!

Still just red and blue stars as far as I know...unless you are talking about my big pink star:

The eagle represents Igor, the eagle on Sheldon Brown's helmet. Anyone who donates to a charity (hopefully one related to cycling, or the two chosen by Sheldon Brown's family) can send the cut and paste receipt to Brian by e-mail, and Igor will show up.

Here's the link for the two charities which were suggested by Sheldon's family:

Thank you for your help, East Hill. Any thoughts about placing a legend someplace?

You'd have to ask someone in charge about that :D . But I am always here to answer questions whenever I can.

I guess the question would be where to put a legend...where everyone would read it!

How long does it take to get my little red star? I paid my subscription on Saturday, is it automatic, or does it take a few days for the mods to get around to it?

Just curious, no stressing here.

If Brian wanders through it will take just seconds :) .

Or you could send him an e-mail asking if it hasn't shown up by Tuesday or so.
