Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - White Industries ENO SS Cranks

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I like.
A lot.
Would this work well for fixed gear drivetrains under backpedalling pressure ("look ma, no spider!") Seems kind of sketchy but is it worth the risk for a bit of bling?

The splined interface between the crank arm and chainwheel is pretty beefy.
If you're really worried about it, look into the Paul Pure Road Crank (http://www.paulcomp.com/crankroad.html), which has a different interface and uses chainring bolts. Plus, it has the option for the Royal Flush pattern.
Paul's doesn't come in all silver and uses a 1/8" chain, I believe (although it's just as attractive.)

They are plenty beefy and get used on lots of fixed gear bikes. A couple of my friends who own a shop run them, and love them. I'll probably get them for my next bling build. And they're pretty cheap for bling at that.
Do it.
I <3 square taper. The 90's were great and I going to do my damnedest to keep it alive.
