Hessen, Germany Group Rides

Looking for a group ride in the Wiesbaden/Mainz area. Anybody from this area? I get out by myself but am looking for a group to get that added push. Any locals interested in starting a group thing would be good too.

You can try Radsportverein Wiesbaden at http://www.radsportverein-wiesbaden.de/index2.html. They used to meet Wednesdays at the Burgerhaus in WI-Erbinheim. Also if you have access to the US base, the Wisebaden Army Airfield outdoor rec used to have Sunday rides. The outdoor rec phone is 0611-705-5760 M-F 9:30-18:00. I think there are two other German clubs in Wiesbaden too.

Good training group is leaving saturday/sunday from train station Mainz Kastell 11am. This is the meeting time from Nov- April....then the racing season is full on. They ride in a area called "Ried" which is south of Frankfurt...nice flat, perfect for base miles. Usually 1-2 store stops...ride length...2-5hrs
They ride almost under all conditions, if it is wet you want to make sure you have fenders on...or you ride in the back the entire time.
