Watched the New Year unfold by television in NY. It's only 10:46 p.m. PST, but it's time for bed for this pair of 50+. Happy New Year, everyone!

Just got home from a NYE gig. I play in (several) bands and I played a party tonight. I have a NYD ride in 5 hours. Good night, happy new year, and I hope that all of you have a wonderful and productive (in whatever way) year in 2008.

Morning all. Hope you enjoyed last nights celebrations- I think I did but NO hangover this morning. Give it a few hours and I'll be out for a ride. In defference to my dehydration- It will probably be a short one though.

Went to bed at 9:30.

Weather service says the temp is 2F (-17C), with a wind chill of -13F (-24C) this morning. To me, that is not a pleasurable temperature to be riding on ice and snow.

Our regular gym is closed today, so I downloaded a free 7 day pass to 24 Hour Fitness, and hope to get some swimming in - but likely will have to listen to a sales pitch as the price.

Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I was right!

Predictions: Obama is president. Some foreigner wins the TdF. The middle east is unstable. Oil prices go up. Insurance prices go up. Taxes do not go down. Ohio State wins the BCS (IhopeIhopeIhope). Global climate change increases, with more Arctic ice melt. My oldest child gets married. A celebrity gets arrested. A celebrity is involved in a sex scandal. A politician is involved in a sex scandal with a person of the same gender. George Bush says something stupid. I fall off my bike. Need any more?

Happy New Year to everyone. Donna and I were in, but fell asleep in front of the TV before the magic moment. That's what happens when you have two small dogs that curl up against you and get comfy- kind of like small portable heaters with fur! Hope it is a great year for everyone.

This morning, two coyotes walked nonchalantly down the trail right behind my house as casually as can be!

This was the first time I had seen them so close.

This weekend (depending on moon) is the Hejira (Islamic) New Year - so once again, Happy New Year to Y'all! Peace and Strength.

I get a 3 day weekend, with morning rides planned each morning. Coldest weather here for the last 30 years - a frost this morning. That's not what I came here for. However, I'll be pining for it in June!
