Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

you probably have no idea how much of a tool you looked like when, after i passed you and said hi, you had to swing around on the return right next to me, give me some ******** look, and wind up in the most spastic sprint i've ever seen.
i actually thought you were going to swing up and chat, but getting passed must have been a serious affront to your sensibilities.
congratulations on gapping me for 500 meters. Bailing out at the light just made you look like even more of a tool.... ("uuhhh i meant to turn off there..."....sure dude.)
anyway, i know the excitement of a new bike and all that comes with it. next time however, leave me out of your pathetic attempts at becoming a legend in your own mind.

Cyclists must be the most insecure of all species. I bought my first bicycle (with my own money, that is) when I was a sophomore in college, and even now, so many years later, I still don't get the obsession with " dropping, getting dropped" that is part of the cycling vocabulary. I love cycling, but there are also many other things in my life that I enjoy intensely, and I am always looking for other "adventures or activities" that can enrich my life.

I cycle for fitness and joy, and for the he** of me, I still do not get the huge insecurity that seem to exist among cyclists. Also, every time I get on the BikeForums, I am sometimes surprised by what people are posting re: dropping, being dropped, leg-shaving, insults and other non-important stuff. I like the BikeForums because I have learnt so much about cycling there, and while I am no over or super confident person, I really don't get my kicks from "dropping" another cyclist. It is just not my "cup of tea".

Just my two cents!

Regards, and Happy New Year to all.

The best revenge is not letting the person know it bugged you. If this person happened to read your post, and he's as big a "tool" as you make him out to be, I'm sure his reading this will only stoke his ego.

I know that I was stopped at a red light while driving my 11 year old Jetta and next to me was a brand new 'vette with a middle aged guy behind the wheel.

The light turned green and I roasted him off the line and in the 1/4 mile... droppin that sucka was the highlight of my year!

***I am sure he knew it was a race, cause it is always a race!

congratulations on gapping me for 500 meters.

Do you mean he put a 500 meter gap between you? 'cuz that's pretty big.

At least he didn't draft you (without saying anything) for a few miles, then attack.

"Hey I was just trying to see if I could get the frame to flex. It's not my fault you couldn't keep up when I was just ******** around" :D

Oh but while we're at it, to the girl in the Lipton outfit. You couldn't even nod when I waved at you? Every other rider at least acknowledged my existence, but you and your pro outfit were too good for me and my slow @$$. :D
