Charity Events - Are there any Lyme Disease Cycling Events?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Last year I rode my first charity ride, the Tour de Cure for the American Diabetes Association. Great experience and great organization.

This year, it is really looking like my wife has Lyme Disease. And the bad part is that is looks like she is in later stages. It is not a good situation.

So, I got to thinking that there might be some charity rides for Lyme Disease support. Especially with all the mountain bikers on these forums.

For the record, we are just learning about Lyme but sadly it seems that so are most doctors and the CDC. It is the fastest growing infectious disease in our country. There is a documentary being produced on this horrible disease. The web site is here: http://www.openeyepictures.com/

This takes you to the 2007 site, but if it's going to go in 2008, they'd be the ones to contact. It's in Upstate NY.

By the way, I used to live in the Choo Choo :D Over off Brainerd Road, near the McCallie Tunnel!

Yeah when our dear President got bitten by a tick recently, his doctors couldn't shoot him up fast enough with the antibiotics...
